What is the LAST CLASS PRESENTATION?
IMPORTANT
THE ROLE OF A PROFESSIONAL TEACHER IS TO BE ABLE TO TEACH EXPECTED LEARNING INTENTIONS AS WELL AS TO BE ABLE TO ASSESS AND EVALUATE THEIR STUDENTS IN ORDER TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND THEIR NEXT STEPS
Why do teachers complete a LAST CLASS PRESENTATION?
Complete Formsite in front of the student
This form must be completed in the FOURTH to last class of the academic year, to ensure corect closure for the academic year.
Complete Formsite in front of the student:
This should be done in less than 15minutes so that the student does not get bored. Use your activities to help animate the lesson.
Why do you as a teacher complete a FIRST CLASS PRESENTATION?
The first class presentation or FCP is what you have to present in your first TLC class.
-
To present your self to your students in an organised fashion
-
To take the time to look at what your students have done (if they are returning students)
-
Look at what they are going to do in the academic year by going through folder along with the course document
-
To make sure that all the information we have on PWII is correct (please keep in mind that parents fill out their students' applications while preparing to go away on holiday so we need to check it is correct)
-
Also check that our students are able to access all the different computer programs we use to teach our students.

What TEACHERS have to do before FIRST CLASS PRESENTATION (FCP)
-
Prepare around 6 fun activities to help evaluate your students' levels in : phonetics - grammar - vocabulary - reading - writing - listening and speaking.
-
Practice the flow of the FCP enough times to ensure that the form does not take more than 15 minutes to complete
-
NB: the form is divided into 6 sections:
-
Section 1- This section is one of the longest as you need to check their details with PWII and make any changes if neccessary. Have atask that they can do easily like spot the difference - colouring for the younger ones or - skimming task for the older ones.
-
Section 2 - This is a yes/no question at this stage. Do they have their old files if yes ask them for it and keep it on the table for reference later on.
-
Section 3 - This is a yes/no question at this stage. Do they have their this year's files? If yes ask for it and keep it on the table for further reference.
-
Section 4 - This section asks two interdependant questions.

-
If yes check the browser - this is a very easy task that takes three seconds the computer will tell you if the browser is successful.
-
-
section 5 - This section only shows up for A1 and A2 level students (apart from Cycle 1) . Again teachers have to access their students accounts CAREFULLY. If it works they have to show their students how quizlet works. (username: newtlcteacher - password 6275017tlc)
-
section 6 - This part is the longest part where teachers take the time to look at what they did last year and discuss what they are going to do this year. Also teachers should take notes of they students to help them plan.
